Can the movers start later in the morning?
Often yes. When the schedule allows, David can shift Spartan's window later or aim for its later part, and you stay the crew's first customer.
Usually, if you ask early
In many cases, yes. When the schedule allows, David can narrow or shift the window so the crew arrives later in the morning, and you are still their first stop of the day. We cannot promise an exact minute, but a later start is one of the easier requests to fit if you raise it when you book.
Reasons people ask for a later start
| Situation | What usually works |
|---|---|
| Leasing office hands out keys at 9 | Aim for the later part of the window |
| Street cleaning blocks parking until 11 | Shift the window so the truck can park legally |
| Contractor or painter finishing up | A later window, if the calendar is open that day |
| Elevator reserved from a set hour | Match the window to the reservation |
What we can and cannot promise
The default is a two-hour morning window based on where the move starts. Moving it later is a judgment call for David, made with the full day's schedule in front of him. He checks whether the crew has anything else lined up and how long your job is likely to run.
What we avoid is a fixed time like "exactly 10:15." Traffic can still move things a little, and the crew's 30-minute call is the precise signal. If you need the truck to wait for parking, keys or a building rule, say so plainly and we will plan around it.
How to ask
- Mention the later start when you request a quote or book, not on the morning of the move.
- Give the reason, since "keys at 9" and "parking opens at 11" lead to different plans.
- Confirm the adjusted window during the final confirmation three days out.
- Keep your phone nearby; the call still comes 30 minutes ahead.
The moving checklist helps you line up keys, parking and the elevator, and the local moving overview explains the rest of the day. You can also note the request on the quote form.

Questions and answers
Can you arrive at 10:30 exactly?
We do not lock in an exact minute, but we can often aim for the later part of the window.
Will a later start cost more?
No. The hourly rate does not change; the clock simply begins when the crew starts working.
What if street cleaning lasts until 11?
Tell us when you book so David can shift the window and the truck can park legally.
Can I change the start time the night before?
Ask as early as you can. Last-minute changes are harder because the crew's day is already planned.
