Pleasanton Movers from Main Street to the Ridge

Pleasanton's downtown runs along Main Street, with Victorian-era storefronts, older cottages and bungalows on the side streets, and a steady flow of people on foot. Curb space is tight and the street is busy on weekends, so a downtown house usually means planning exactly where the truck stands and when. If the truck must use a public street, the city may have a process for it; ask us early and we check what applies to your address. Older homes here can have narrow doorways and steep interior stairs, which we plan for.

Pleasanton sits in the Amador Valley where I-580 and I-680 cross, with Pleasanton Ridge rising to the west and vineyards spreading south and east toward Livermore. The Alameda County Fairgrounds sit just west of downtown. North of the center, near I-580, are Stoneridge, the Hacienda business park and the apartment buildings around the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station. Neighborhoods such as Vintage Hills and Kottinger Ranch climb the eastern and southern slopes, Castlewood sits up in the hills to the southwest, and gated Ruby Hill lies out on Vineyard Avenue among the vines.

1. Downtown cottage or bungalow: small rooms, narrow halls, curb planning.
2. Hillside family home in Vintage Hills or Kottinger Ranch: two stories, sloped driveway, a three or four mover job.
3. Ruby Hill or Castlewood property: gated entry, HOA rules, large rooms with pianos and art. Add us to the gate list and send the HOA's insurance request; COIs are free with the HOA name, mailing address and email.
4. Apartment near Hacienda or BART: elevator booking and loading area. Elevator waiting is part of the job time.

For apartments, condos and most two-bedroom homes we send three movers at $175 an hour. Larger hillside and Ruby Hill houses, three bedrooms over 1,800 square feet or anything with four or more bedrooms, get four movers at $235. The clock runs a three-hour minimum and then in 15-minute increments, at the same rate any day. Wardrobe boxes are lent for the move, and blankets, tape, floor protection and furniture disassembly are part of full service; packing supplies are charged only as used.

How long a Pleasanton move takes, and what it costs

To show what the rate adds up to, we measured our recent local moves by the hours on the final bill and set them next to the crew rate for each size. Think of the table as a planning guide for Pleasanton; your bill is hourly and depends on the time the crew spends.

Hours are the middle half of billed hours on our recent local moves for direct customers, July to October 2026, including the drive between homes; account and partner-billed jobs and jobs with our full packing service are left out. Packing materials are extra, and every job has a 3-hour minimum ($525 with 3 movers).

A two-story hillside home with a sloped driveway tends to sit higher in its row than a single-level house, and an apartment move depends on how quickly the elevator and loading dock are free.

Between mid-July and late October 2026 we received 4 quote requests from Pleasanton, not counting account work, and 3 of them booked or completed. Two-bedroom homes were the most common size (2 requests). Three of the four started in Pleasanton and went to Dublin, Berkeley and San Francisco, so longer cross-Bay local moves do come up from here.

Pleasanton is about 22 miles north of downtown San Jose, reached on I-680 through Sunol. Travel to your door is not billed. East Bay morning arrivals are in a 9 to 11 AM window, and the crew rings 30 minutes out. For moves into Oakland or San Francisco, remember that when the drive between pickup and drop-off is more than 10 minutes, California regulation requires that time to be billed at double.
