Apartments at the Landing and smaller downtown homes usually move with 3 movers at $175 an hour. Canyon and hillside homes with 4 or more bedrooms, or 3 bedrooms over 1,800 square feet, get 4 movers at $235 an hour. A 3-hour minimum applies, then billing goes in 15-minute steps, and the rate is the same on Saturdays and Sundays. Blankets, tape, wardrobe boxes, floor protection and furniture disassembly are included; packing supplies are billed as used. Any time waiting on an elevator counts as job time, so a reserved elevator saves you money.
What a Larkspur move has cost, by home size
To help you budget a Larkspur move, we took the hours actually billed on Bay Area moves we finished this summer and fall, then multiplied those hours by the matching crew rate. These are typical ranges, not quotes; the hourly rate times your actual time is what you pay.
| Home size | Crew | Typical hours | Typical cost |
|---|
| Studio | 3 movers, $175/hr | 3 to 4 hours | $525 to $700 |
| 1 bedroom | 3 movers, $175/hr | 3 to 5 hours | $525 to $875 |
| 2 bedrooms | 3 movers, $175/hr | 4.5 to 7.75 hours | $788 to $1,356 |
| 3 bedrooms, under about 1,800 sq ft | 3 movers, $175/hr | 7 to 12.5 hours | $1,225 to $2,188 |
| 3 bedrooms over about 1,800 sq ft, or 4+ bedrooms | 4 movers, $235/hr | 7 to 12.5 hours | $1,645 to $2,938 |
Middle 50% of billed hours on recent local moves for direct customers (July to October 2026), with the drive between homes counted as billed. Account and partner-billed jobs and moves that included our full packing are not in these numbers. Packing supplies extra; 3-hour minimum.
Homes above Magnolia Avenue and in the canyons often have steep front steps or a path through the trees to the door, and every extra step of carry is part of the billed time.
