Rates in plain numbers
$175 an hour buys three movers, which is what most one- and two-bedroom apartments and many houses need. $235 an hour gets four, our standard for a three-bedroom over about 1,800 square feet or a home with four or more bedrooms. $145 an hour for two movers suits a very small job. Each move starts with a 3-hour minimum and then runs in 15-minute increments, at the same rate seven days a week. Full service includes blankets, tape, wardrobe boxes you hand back after the move, floor protection, and taking furniture apart and putting it back together. Boxes and packing paper are billed as used. For a longer local hop, drive time between pickup and drop-off is doubled when they are more than 10 minutes apart, a California rule.

Figures use the middle half of billed hours from local moves we completed for direct customers July through October 2026, drive time between homes included, account and full-pack jobs left out. Boxes and other supplies are extra, and no job bills under 3 hours.
Houses on regular lots with curb parking and ordinary driveways usually stay in range, while complexes with narrow private drives and buildings with a reserved elevator add time.
One city, four very different moves
Redwood Shores
East of US-101, built on filled land around a network of lagoons, Redwood Shores is mostly condos and townhomes with some single-family streets. Many complexes have HOA move rules, assigned loading spots and narrow private drives where a truck must not block garages. Our Redwood Shores page goes into the lagoon neighborhoods in more detail.
Downtown and the station area
Around Broadway, Courthouse Square and the Caltrain station, newer mid-rise apartment buildings stand among older houses and storefronts. These buildings usually want a certificate of insurance and a reserved elevator, and some have a loading dock with set hours.
The middle of town
Between El Camino Real and Alameda de las Pulgas are older single-family neighborhoods such as Mount Carmel, Stambaugh-Heller, Palm Park and Woodside Plaza. Homes here are mostly one or two stories on regular lots, with curb parking and driveways of ordinary length.
Farm Hill and the western slopes
Toward I-280 the streets rise through Farm Hill and Edgewood Park, and right next to them the unincorporated Emerald Hills. Sloped lots and steeper driveways make the walk to the truck longer.

Between mid-July and late October 2026 Redwood City sent us 4 quote requests, not counting account work, and 2 of them booked or completed. Two were three-bedrooms, one was a one-bedroom and one a two-bedroom; three were local moves and one was long distance.
Buildings, HOAs and elevator time
When a Redwood City move involves a building or an HOA, the paperwork is a big part of the planning. We provide a COI at no cost. To issue it we need the HOA or management company's name, its mailing address and an email to send it to. Book the freight elevator if the building has one, because any time the crew stands waiting for an elevator is part of the billed job time. If the building has a loading zone, tell us the hours, and if the truck must double-park, know that any citation is added to the bill, as our quote and policy state.
Getting to Redwood City
Redwood City is about 22 miles northwest of downtown San Jose, a straight run up US-101, with Redwood Shores on the bay side of the freeway and Farm Hill up near I-280. Expect the crew between 8 and 10 AM on a morning job, with a call roughly 30 minutes before they pull up. The drive from our base to your home is on us.

- Redwood Shores: lagoon-side condos, townhomes and houses east of 101.

Questions and answers
- Can you move me out of a Redwood Shores townhome?
Yes. Townhome complexes there often have HOA rules on where the truck can stand and when moves can happen. Send us the rules and the HOA contact, and we will plan around them and supply the COI for free.
- Do you charge for elevator waiting?
The waiting time is part of the hourly job time. Reserving the elevator ahead of time is the easiest way to keep that time down.
- Do you do long-distance moves from Redwood City?
