Apartment and house pricing
A studio or a light one-bedroom can be a 2-mover job at $145 an hour. Most apartments, condos and Eichlers here use 3 movers at $175. A three-bedroom over 1,800 square feet, or anything with four or more bedrooms, gets 4 movers at $235. The minimum is 3 hours, billed in 15-minute steps after that, and the rate is the same on Sunday as on Monday. In a garden complex, the walk from the unit to the truck is often the biggest factor, so even a small apartment can land toward the upper end of its row.

A renter's city with a busy downtown
Mountain View stretches from the foothills near Grant Road and Cuesta Park up to Shoreline and the bay. Castro Street is the downtown, with the Caltrain and light rail station at its north end and the older blocks of Old Mountain View around it. El Camino Real and Central Expressway run across the middle, and US-101, Highway 85 and Highway 237 meet on the north side near North Bayshore, where the big tech campuses are. A large share of residents rent, and apartment complexes line El Camino, Shoreline Boulevard, Middlefield Road and the streets around them.
Big trucks on narrow streets
Mountain View restricts oversized vehicles on its narrower streets. Under Measure C, vehicles over 22 feet long, 7 feet wide or 7 feet high are limited on streets 40 feet wide or less. Many residential streets here fall in that range, so we look at your street before move day and decide where the truck will stand and for how long, or whether the driveway or a complex's loading area is the better spot.
Downtown, curb space near Castro Street is tight during the lunch and dinner hours. Morning starts are easier.
Inside the complexes
Apartment and condo moves here usually involve a long walk from the unit to the truck, through courtyards or covered parking, and often stairs on two- and three-story garden buildings without elevators. Where there is an elevator, waiting for it counts as part of the job time, so reserve it if management allows. If the property wants a certificate of insurance, we provide one free; send the management name, mailing address and email.
Eichlers in Monta Loma and Bell Meadows
Mountain View has Eichler tracts in Monta Loma and the later Bell Meadows area. These single-story homes have glass walls, open plans and atriums. Glass gets extra attention when long pieces turn in a hallway, and the floors are covered from door to door. There are no stairs to slow things down, but the glass sets the pace.

Is two movers enough for my studio?
Often yes. Two movers at $145 an hour works for very small moves. If there are stairs and heavy pieces, three is usually faster overall.
My apartment is on the third floor with no elevator. Will that cost more?
The rate does not change, but stairs add time. Tell us the floor so the estimate reflects it.
What time does the crew arrive?
Morning moves on the Peninsula and South Bay arrive in an 8-10 AM window, with a call about 30 minutes ahead.
Do you take Venmo or checks?
