When do I pay for my local move?
At the end. Local moves need no deposit or prepayment; you pay in full when the job is done, and the crew runs cards on site. Long distance is 50/50.
Do I need to pay a deposit to book a local move?
No. Reserving your date costs nothing, and the full payment is collected at the end.
Can I pay the office afterward instead of the crew?
Payment is collected on site when the work is done. The foreman can run a card right there, which is the easiest way to close out the job.
How is a long distance move paid?
It is split into two equal payments: one on pickup day and one when your shipment is delivered.
What can I pay with at the end?
Cash, money order, Visa or Mastercard. Cards include a 3% processing fee.

Payment comes last
On a local move you pay when the work is finished, not before. There is no deposit to book and nothing is charged ahead of time. Once everything is unloaded and placed, the foreman gives you the total and takes payment right there, including running your card if that is how you pay.
Timing by type of job
| Type of job | When payment is due |
|---|---|
| Standard local move | In full at the end of the job |
| Local move spread over more than one day | At the end of each day's work |
| Move into storage | When the move into the storage unit is complete |
| Long distance move | Half at pickup, half at delivery |
Why we bill at the finish
Local jobs are priced by the hour, so the real number only exists once the clock stops. Billing at the end means you pay for the time actually worked, plus any packing materials used, and nothing is estimated in advance and adjusted later. Our local moving page explains the hourly approach, and the moving cost guide shows how a total is built.
Storage and multi-day jobs
When your belongings go into storage, the moving portion is paid as soon as the crew finishes placing everything in the unit. Storage itself is a separate flat monthly charge, explained on our storage solutions page. For a move split across two or more days, such as packing one day and moving the next, each day is settled when that day's work ends, so you never carry a large open balance.
