Can I pay for my move with Zelle or Venmo?
We do not take Zelle or Venmo as payment for your move. The bill is settled with cash, a money order, or a Visa or Mastercard card at the end of the job. The one place an app does come in is tipping: if you want to thank a mover directly, sending a tip to that mover by Venmo is fine.

The longer answer
Bill versus tip at a glance
| The moving bill | A tip for the crew | |
|---|---|---|
| Cash | Yes | Yes |
| Money order | Yes | Not typical |
| Visa or Mastercard | Yes, 3% fee | Can be added to the card |
| Venmo | No | Yes, sent to the mover |
| Zelle | No | Not used |
Why apps are kept out of billing
Every job closes with one clear payment recorded against your move, collected by the foreman on site. Keeping the bill to cash, money orders and two card brands means your receipt and our records always agree. More on how the final number is reached is in our moving cost guide.
If you usually pay with an app
- Pick up cash or a money order before move day if you want to avoid the card fee.
- Otherwise keep a Visa or Mastercard handy; the crew runs it on the spot.
- For tips, ask each mover for their Venmo at the end, or hand cash to the foreman to share.
Tipping is optional and never part of the bill. On a local move, nothing is due until the work is complete.
Payment and tipping questions
More questions people ask
Can I send a deposit by Zelle to hold my date?
There is no deposit on a local move, so nothing needs to be sent to reserve your date.
Does the Venmo tip go to Spartan or the mover?
It goes straight to the mover you send it to. Tips belong to the crew.
Can I pay part by card and part in cash?
Ask the foreman at the end of the job; the card portion carries the 3% fee.
What if I only have Zelle available on move day?
Plan ahead with cash or a money order, or use a Visa or Mastercard. The crew cannot accept an app transfer for the bill.
