Can you send a certificate of insurance (COI) to my building?
We send certificates of insurance to buildings all the time and never charge for them. Give us your HOA or property manager details and we request the COI from our insurance agent, then forward it as soon as it is issued. The certificate proves to the building that a licensed, insured mover will be working in its hallways and elevators.

The longer answer
What we need from you
- Name of the HOA or management company (the certificate holder)
- Their mailing address
- The email where the certificate should go
- Any sample COI or special wording the building sent you
Many buildings publish a requirements sheet. Forward it to us as is; that is the fastest way to get the wording right the first time.
Two buildings, two certificates
If you are leaving one managed building and moving into another, each one usually wants its own COI. Send both sets of details at once. Landlords of single units sometimes ask for one too. If a building reviews ours and asks for a change, such as adding an additional insured name, we submit a revised request with their exact instructions.
What the certificate shows
| Coverage | Limit |
|---|---|
| General liability | $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate |
| Auto | $1M |
| Umbrella | $1M |
| Workers comp | $1M |
Buildings often hold the elevator reservation until they have the COI, so request it once your date is set. Moving in San Francisco? Our SF parking permit guide covers the truck side. Office moves work the same way; see commercial moving.
Tip: ask the management office who signs off on move-in paperwork. Sometimes the leasing office and the HOA are different people, and the COI needs to go to the one who controls the elevator calendar. If you are not sure, include both contacts and we will copy them on the email.
