Can you move liquids like cleaning supplies and laundry soap?

Yes, if every liquid is sealed and packed in a box. Leave anything that may leak. Heavy detergent jugs go in boxes, never loose or in bags.

Can I move open bottles of cleaner?

Only if they close securely and are packed in a box. Anything that might leak should be left behind or carried separately.

Do I need special boxes for liquids?

No special box is needed. A small, strong box with the bottles upright and gaps filled works well.

Will you move paint cans or gasoline?

Ask before move day. List those items with your quote request and David will confirm what can go on the truck.

Can I just set detergent jugs on the truck floor?

Please box them. A loose jug can tip, crack or slide into furniture, while a box keeps it upright and lets the crew stack it safely.

Labeled moving boxes and wardrobe boxes in a living room

Yes, sealed and boxed

Yes, we can move household liquids as long as each container is sealed and packed inside a box. Anything that might leak, like a half-used bottle with a loose cap, should stay off the truck, because one spill can stain furniture and soak through other boxes.

How to pack bottles so they travel well

  • Check that every cap is screwed down tight. Tape it if it tends to loosen.
  • Stand bottles upright in a small, sturdy box and fill gaps with towels or paper so nothing tips.
  • Put big laundry detergent jugs in their own box. They are heavy, and a box gives the crew something solid to lift and stack.
  • Seal the box and label it with the room and "liquids, this side up".
  • Leave nearly empty or crusty containers behind and buy fresh at the new place.

Why boxes and not bags

We do not move items packed in plastic bags. Bags cannot be stacked, they tear, and a bottle inside one can be crushed under weight. A sealed box keeps the load stable in the truck. If you would rather not deal with it, our crew can pack for you with supplies charged as used; see our packing services.

Items to ask about first

Paint, fuel, propane and other chemicals are a separate question. If you have anything beyond normal cleaning and laundry products, list it when you request your quote and David will tell you what the crew can take. Your moving checklist is a good place to keep that list.
