Bay Area moves rarely line up perfectly. A sale closes before the new place is ready, a remodel runs long, a lease ends a month before the next one starts. Moving and storage together means the same company loads your home, keeps everything in climate-controlled storage, and delivers it when you are ready. You do not rent a truck or a unit, and there is no handoff between a mover and a separate storage business.
How it works
- Pickup: the crew wraps and loads your furniture and boxes, the same as any move, at the normal hourly rate.
- Into storage: your things go into climate-controlled storage.
- The waiting period: you pay one flat fee for each 30-day period.
- Delivery: when the new home is ready, you call the office and we schedule the delivery, billed hourly like a local move.
How storage is billed

Example: your things go in on March 10. The first period runs to April 8 and the second from April 9 to May 8. A delivery on April 20 falls in the second period, which is billed in full, so a delivery near the end of a period gets the most out of each fee.
What storage costs
Storage is priced by how much you are storing, so David sends a storage price specific to your load along with your moving quote. For long-distance shipments held between homes, our long-distance pricing starts at $475 a month for up to 3,000 lb. The moving part is the usual hourly rate: 3 movers at $175 an hour, 4 at $235, with a 3-hour minimum for the pickup and again for the delivery.
Packing for storage
- Mark the boxes you might need before delivery, for example NEED FIRST on the top and two sides. Point them out to the foreman so they go in last and sit at the front.
- Keep documents, passports, medication and jewelry with you, not in storage.
- Put everyday clothes for the in-between weeks in a suitcase.
- Use boxes, not plastic bags, for loose items.
- Leave food and perishables out.

- Is your storage climate controlled?
Yes. Your belongings are kept in climate-controlled storage between pickup and delivery.
- Do discounts apply to storage?
No. Repeat-customer and referral discounts come off the moving charges only. Storage is never discounted.
- Is storage billed by the calendar month?
No. It is billed in 30-day periods counted from the day your things go in, and a started period is billed in full.
- Can I get a box out before delivery?
Usually yes, if you mark it before the move so it is loaded last. Call the office and we arrange the visit.
- Do I pay for the move and the storage at the same time?
The local pickup is paid at the end of that job, like any local move, by cash, money order, Visa or Mastercard (3% card fee). Storage is a separate flat fee per period.
