Will all my belongings fit in one moving truck?
For most homes, yes: Spartan's truck holds about 1,750 cubic feet per trip. Very large loads on short moves are often cheaper as two trips.
For most homes, one trip does it
In most cases, yes. Our truck carries about 1,750 cubic feet in one trip, which is enough for most apartments and houses. When a load is truly bigger than that, David plans for it ahead of time, so you are not surprised on moving day.

What happens with very large loads
Some jobs do outgrow one truck, for example a big house plus a garage of tools, or two full storage units being combined. On a short local move, David has found that making a second trip with the same truck and crew is usually cheaper than hiring a commercial-license truck or adding a second truck and team. The second run adds drive time, but you avoid paying for another full crew.
On longer moves the math is different, and that is where an on-site look matters most.
How the size of the home lines up
| Home | Usual plan |
|---|---|
| Typical apartment or house | One truck, one trip |
| Larger home where volume is uncertain | Free on-site inspection so David can judge it |
| Home plus a full garage or storage units, short distance | Often a second trip with the same crew |
The moving cost guide explains how hourly time, including drive time, adds up on a local move.
Things that take up more room than people expect
- Garage shelving, tools and bikes
- Patio furniture, grills and planters
- Loose items not in boxes; sealed boxes stack far better
- Plants, which go on last if space remains

Questions and answers
- How many cubic feet does your truck hold?
About 1,750 cubic feet in a single trip.
- What if my things do not fit?
The crew makes a second trip. On short local moves that is often the most economical choice.
- Can you bring two trucks?
For large loads David weighs a second trip against other options and explains the cost before the move.
- Will you take my plants?
Plants and planters go on if there is room left once the household goods are loaded.
