Heading south, within California
Los Angeles is a frequent long-distance destination for our Bay Area customers. In 2026 we completed a San Jose to Long Beach move and quoted moves from San Francisco to Los Angeles, Sunnyvale to Los Angeles and Santa Clara to the Inland Empire. Returning local customers also ask us for their move south, often to West Hollywood, Mid-City and the beach cities. We have a Glendale office as well as our Bay Area base, and we move this route in both directions. For moves north, see our Los Angeles to Bay Area page.
Two ways to book the same trip
Moves within California are priced by weight. Your written estimate shows the estimated weight, the rate per pound and a minimum space reservation. You then choose how the truck is booked:
| Standard | Reserve the truck | |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum reservation | 3,000 lb | 5,000 lb |
| Delivery | within 7 business days | guaranteed next day |
| Stairs, elevator, long carry, shuttle | no extra charge | no extra charge |
Or choose a flat fee for a dedicated truck: a binding price, guaranteed pickup and delivery dates, the same team at both ends and no warehouse transfers.
Which option fits your home
If your estimated weight comes in under 3,000 lb, the standard option means you pay for the 3,000 lb minimum and wait a few days for delivery. If your estimate is near or above 5,000 lb, reserving the truck makes sense: you pay for space you are already using and the furniture arrives the next day. The free on-site inspection tells you which side of that line your home is on. If your shipment comes in heavier than estimated, the extra weight is charged at the same rate per pound. The estimate is non-binding, so the final bill follows the actual weight.
What is included
Loading and unloading, furniture disassembly and reassembly, moving blankets, labeling and an inventory list, and all mileage, tax and tolls. There are no weekend fees. Unpacking boxes is not included. Full packing service with supplies is available. Basic valuation at $0.60 per pound per article is free; full value protection is available through Baker International (bakerintl.com, mover ID 17421).
Payment
50% is due on the day of pickup and 50% on delivery, by cash, money order, Visa or Mastercard. Card payments carry a 3% fee. Returning customers and real-estate-agent referrals get 7% off, and friend referrals 5%.
